Ok here we go again! yet another SEO contest All these SEO contests are so amusing, I cant say no and must make a site for each contest announced. This time the targeted keyword phrase is: “Carcasherdotcom Seocontest” at least its somewhat more normal then the keyword “V7ndotcom Elursrebmem”.
These are the prices for the Carcasherdotcom Seocontest: (from the official contest page)

These are good prices but it wont be easy to rank the highest for this. You got to have many linkpartners all mentioning the keyword Carcasherdotcom Seocontest on their pages, even better would be if your incoming links are coming from domains such as www.carcasherdotcomseocontest.ws or any other other URL with the keywords in the domain name or subfolder/file name.
Google is using a very complex algo for figuring out which site to rank the highest, and no one knows for sure how it is calculated exactly. Personally I think that Google is also using random factors when determing a site´s ranking to make sure SEO´s dont figure it all out by performing tests. They also change their algo every now and then so to be updated and know how to optimize is a full time job.

V7ndotcom Elursrebmem

The Seo contest: V7ndotcom Elursrebmem

You are completly normal if you dont recognize this word: “V7ndotcom Elursrebmem”
It is a made up keyphrase for what I have heard the biggest SEO contest so far.
Make a search on Google.com for that phrase and you will discover that over 3 million results are displayed.
Search engine optimization contests are growing rapidly in popularity and I can understand why, there are several reasons on why to be interested in these kind of events. Well of course that depends on who you are but if you are in to SEO you should pay some attention and see what kind of techniques people use to rank high.

The Contest

Ok! the major idea about this is to rank the highest for the exact term “v7ndotcom elursrebmem” and who ever ranks nr 1 at may 15, 2006 wins 4000 dollar + an Ipod Nice huh!
But its not that easy to win! There are a lot of people in this contest with good SEO skills and people sitting on networks with hundreds of sites…

So the basic idea, I mean the masterplan which every one is using out there! is about recieving incoming links with the words “v7ndotcom elursrebmem” somewhere in the anchor text. Now this is a tough cookie because Google looks at how well related your backlinks are also, which means you cant just have any websites linking to you. You got to have related backlinks, and make link exchanges with sites that are using the same keywords etc as you are.

I hope and I really hope that Google is ranking websites after how related the backlinks are, this would mean that buying expensive high pagerank links from unrelated sites would be way old fashioned and no longer considered to affect your ranking in such a dramatic way as it does today.

One thing is for sure I worked on getting a lot of related backlinks to my V7ndotcom Elursrebmem site and it seems that it is paying off, currently I am ranked nr 2 out of 3 million results

Another question that came to my mind during this contest was: What is spam? yeah, what is spam? nobody knows and nobody can explain? Is spam repeting the same procedure more than once or is it simply writing or showing something that is unrelated on any website?
Feel like I have to make a post later about the subject spam and spamdexing! For those who dont know spamdexing is when you fill Googles index with lots and lots of junk sites…
So would a Dmoz clone be considered as spamdexing or might it even be called spam lol …. Well yeah some say so but why then do Google themselves have a copy of the Dmoz directory with indexed pages?
Well lets not think about that there are plenty of other things to do instead!
